Should have tried a "Matt Diaz" leg sweep.
I worked the Lee-Harlan game last night. A couple of minutes before halftime I hear something behind me. 2 yahoos (teenagers) were sprinting down the field shirts off screaming. Luckily I saw them in enough time and they turned away about 10-15 yards shy of me toward the Harlan sideline. One was full out into, the other one halfassed it. One hopped the fence at the goal line and then climbed the fence where the house sits in that corner of the endzone. The other just walked through Harlans bench at midfield and then down the track and finally climbed the fence. Too bad someone from Lee law enforcement of administration didn't make an attempt to get him.
Needless to say though, I was just about to the point to see if I could still ankle tackle with the best of them.

We talked about that in the lockerroom. That didn't come across my mind at the moment it happened.

You did the right thing. Your old worn out, out of shape, old ass couldn't have done it. You're not in the peak physical condition I am. Good decision on your part.

I was surprised (and disappointed, wanted to see one get tackled) that no one attempted anything, most everyone just stopped and watched. I was looking down at my phone at a text from another game beforehand and just looked up and seen everyone had stopped, and saw the first one coming across, then hear "get off the field" over the PA, haha. Then we all just got a laugh at the 2nd one, didn't think he was going to make it out the stadium. Figured someone would have attempted to go after them, don't know who they were didn't have anyone around me who knew them either.
By the way stripes, is your arm sore from all that flag throwing you all did?![]()
I only threw 2, and dropped a couple. That first half last forever.

Yeah, and slow as everything went, I got a kick out of Harlan they sure weren't in much of a hurry for anything.
I dont blame them. Their coaches were real nice. Said they were very young with only 4 seniors on the team. They had some potential out there on the field.

They lost about 14 seniors from last year's team, lost all their qb, backs, te, and some lineman I think. Figured Lee wouldn't have too much trouble, but they hung tough. Saragas, the qb, is a sophomore I think, he didn't have as good a game as he did the previous week but he had players in his face all night, he played tough. Unfortunate that he went down with the injury, haven't seen anything more on it. I bet he plenty of visions of Graham after him in his sleep. Both teams were getting some guys open down the field, neither could convert much on it though, for Lee though it was dropped passes biting them. Lee was more agressive like they were in the 2nd half against Middlesboro, they forced M'boro's good qb Roark into a few int's with that too. Lee had one of their starting linebackers out for the game but heard he'll be back though in time for Kelly. Hopefully they can take some mometum going in and come one strong for the 2nd half of the season.
